Sensory play is play that stimulates any of the 5 main senses including touch, smell, sight, sound and taste. Sensory play can also include the less known senses such as movement, balance, and spatial awareness.
Sensory play has many benefits including building nerve connections in the brain, increasing language and motor skills, calming anxious children, building awareness of sensory attributes, increasing ability to focus, improving memory and many more.
Sensory play does not need to be complicated. To help families increase their range of sensory play experiences, we have developed a range of low cost sensory play bases and activity packs. Whats more, these packs are one of our most enjoyable fundraising activities with proceeds going to help our toy library run!
